Flow / Dante Disparte
Greetings, ladies and gentlemen (the term is to be gingerly applied),
Welcome to those new to Serendipity. As always, the premises of these essays can be found in the provenance email. (In short, it is a cathartic release of inconsequential observations combined with a monologue about extraordinary people who won’t brag about themselves.)
I spend a lot of time reading and writing for others which unfortunately means I have to use LinkedIn more than my groundedness practice should tolerate. My day usually starts with a healthy dose of professional FOMO, judging people for letting AI fully write their posts, and deleting messages about half-price cleaning services in my area. Once the caffeine kicks in and the apathy fades, I usually progress to quiet, deep work.
I treasure this flow time. Progress and productivity surge through my veins. It is in stark contrast to the back-to-back video meetings that are soon to follow. I underwent psychometric testing when I was eight years old which concluded that I should pursue a career in marketing. At the time, I didn't know what the word marketing meant, and I certainly didn't understand the mental biases that this would set in motion, but here we are 32 years later. I often lament that perhaps if I had rearranged the shapes in a different order, they would have recommended a more enticing profession, such as a reclusive author who lives in a secluded mountain retreat - one day…
Moving on.
This month, I would like to introduce you to an extraordinary man who was born to do what he does and unlikely remisses about poor childhood decisions.
Dante Disparte
Dante Disparte is leading the global charge on the future of money. He is the Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global Policy at Circle and Co-Founder of Risk Cooperative. Anyone reading this who operates an entity with unique exposure must contact them here.
The first time I met Dante, I remember thinking that this fellow would one day be president. His oratory skills seemed to be at an elite level that I had never experienced before. Such was his command of the language, technical knowledge, and human emotion that it left an indelible mark. Then you learn he was born and raised in Puerto Rico, speaks a handful of languages, has a black belt in taekwondo, is Harvard-educated, and spent professional time with Lloyds of London and Land Rover; you begin to understand the years of dedication he has diligently logged. Dante would eventually go on to work with the biggest tech names in the world and now is a part of the furniture at Davos every year.
I know what you are thinking - who is this superhuman and what has Elon implanted in his brain? However, regardless of his stature and global standing, Dante’s superpower is how he makes you feel during a conversation. Humble, interested, equal, and grounded are just some of the conversational attributes that make the man better than the myth.
If, like me, you are dancing the jig because crypto is finally not an embarrassing investment your wife brings up every tax season, you should follow Dante here.
He understands and communicates the future of money, blockchain, stablecoins, and global monetary policy like few others. If you want to read his books, watch his interviews, or book a speaker that will expand the minds of every attendee, go here.
Lastly, if he does ever make president, I am confident this email will definitely get me on the White House straight-to-voicemail list.
