Greetings ladies and gentlemen (the term is to be loosely applied),

For some of you, it’s been way too long since we spoke. I wish that wasn't the case but life is so damn busy. Luckily, after almost 30 years of running to music, I have started experimenting with calling old friends for a catchup instead. So, watch out for an early morning call which you can promptly curse at and send to voicemail.

That being said, congratulations on signing up for the most serendipitous and exclusive email list ever. Actually, you didn't sign up at all. I have handpicked you to be on the list because you are someone I know, respect, and trust. To unsubscribe, you must send a ‘Dear John’ email to me explaining your reason. I will float your excuse to a board of our mutual contacts and then they will decide if you can leave. Obviously, this falls in line with zero of the email compliance laws so please don't turn me in to the authorities. (The unsubscribe is at the bottom of the email).

I am lucky to know so many people who are trying to grow their companies and careers that I thought I would do what I could to help them in a way that I enjoy. For the last year or so, I have been writing LinkedIn posts about people and how I value them and then connecting them to other people in my network. This has brought me lots of happiness and has sparked hundreds of interesting conversations.

With this newsletter each month (consistency might be an issue), I am going to do the same but I will explain a little bit about one company I have had the honor to work or associate with. I hope someone reading this needs to explore their services or maybe you know someone who does. Or at the very least, next time you are in a conversation maybe this email pops in your head as a point of reference.

Lastly, since I am woefully absent on Facebook and Instagram, I will also include a story about something happening in my world. I will attempt to include humor, although as I get older, I feel less funny and more grumpy. This often makes for whining rather than entertaining, therefore, if my email sounds like I am talking to my therapist please bill my insurance company.

Without further rambling, this month I would like to introduce you to…

Eric Middleton, Derek Swank, & 1Rivet

Eric & Derek lead this amazing tech company that is loaded with talented and brilliant people. After meeting them through a mutual friend, John Dinkel, I was instantly infected by their energy and intellect. One is a Canadian mathematician and the other is an American entrepreneur. This means they move at pace and with purpose.

1Rivet builds custom web and mobile apps, implements MS Dynamics and Deputy Software, and has deep domain expertise in pre and post-M&A technology diligence for large financial institutions. You know how most consultancies sell with the A-players and deliver with the C-players - not 1Rivet. They use the best talent for delivery because Eric & Derek have fostered an awesome culture with very high standards of success. Their leaders fight from the trenches, too!

If you are looking to integrate a new CRM, build a new app, or analyze your tech stack - Eric and Derek are worth a conversation.
